please help!!! i like this guy and i dont know what to do.?

I ran into my coworker at a store and he had his friend with him. I started talking to them and felt a connection with his friend. I told my co workers friend to add me on Facebook and he did that same night and starting poking me. We have been talking this past week he's said things like your so awesome, your just like me, and I make him feel less weird. We both have the same personality, we both were home School, and we both are the goofy ones out of our friends groups. We will talk for a long time each night for the past week and a half, but the last two days he's seem distance. We have planned hanging out with my coworker, but my coworker canceled and I said maybe me, you, and my friends could hangout? He said he rather wait for my coworker. I had planned on just being his friend even though I like him a lot since he's going through a really really rough time right now. Right now since he said no to just hanging out with me I feel very rejected and embarrassed. So should I just stop talking to him? I mean I'm probably not that important to him and he probably not notice if I'm gone.
Oh me and my co worker are great friends I let him borrow my video games and all the time

Hi well maybe take a back seat for awhile seems u may have upset ur co-worker and this guy feels he would be betraying his friend ,he is not that into u as may feel.

Do ur part and don't expect is always the rule.
U want to hang out, ask him if he wants to hang out, maybe on the weekend, for a few hours...let him do the taking since he's going thru a lot. Don't b jumpy or pushy about urself. He just needs some space and u need to provide a balance between space and the fact that ur der for him.
Balance it wel and he'll be der for u.
At this point just do the normal chat and check when he is free to actually chat with u or give u time. Take every minute that he gives u without complaining of the limited time he has.
Ask him whether he'd lik2 catch up for a movie which is going to release and book tickets . Or tell him about a play or mall that uv heard of being really good and ask him if he'd like to accompny u since ur alone. From there, charm him with ur talks and spend sometime
