So, I am a regular contributor to wikipedia(nearly 300-400 contribs), both new articles as well as updation/editing etc. I am preparing for my country civil servant exam so I am unemployed. contribution to wikipedia updates my knowledge too on the topic and so i do it interestingly. Can it be listed as Volunteering for Wikipedia or content creation for wikipedia on social media? I have not done it, but I am asking it.

In my opinion, I think it depends???? I'm not so knowledgeable about the Civil Servant Exam, but school and education-wise, most of them don't really accept Wikipedia as an acceptable source for either research nor homework, because it can be so easily changed and altered to incorrect information by people who like to have "some fun."

Yes. It will show:

a level of commitment

research skills

understanding the requirements of Wikipedia (verifiability, writing style etc.)

Co-operation with other editors

Etc.

All of which are skills that will enhance you employment prospects.
