Im a 23 year old man with a successful job. I made a lot of friends in high school and I've kept most of them in my life till about a week ago. See, most people would profile my group of friends(NOT ME) i hang with to be "bar flys" or "low lifes" simple because They would drink at bars and experiment with drugs on occasion. I had recently gotten into a bar fight at a local dive bar and called it quits. These friends started a rumor about me which destroyed my relationship with my girlfriend. Though all the bullshit, i found out she cheated on me. So i dump her, i dump my whole group of friends and deleted my facebook and other social media. Did i do something wrong to deserve all this. How do i make better friends who socially drink but are responsible enough to say no. Is their something wrong with me. I feel very alone

You may have not done anything wrong. Sometimes people do things because they're jealous of you. You just need to be careful when it comes to choosing your friends. I wouldn't trust everyone just because they speak to me. If they do drugs and drink heavily, I would say away from them, if you don't want to hang with people like that.

There is nothing wrong with you, your friends are not good ones, not because they drink at bars but because they started a rumor about you, as for your girlfriend, you will find one deserving of you, one who is committed. Focus on your job and as time passes you will find new friends to socially drink with, they may even come from your job.

Ethan...you are 23 yrs of age. To start get out of your mind that something is wrong with you. I think from what you wrote here. You are a very smart and wise person. And as far as friends concerned. You pick the kind of people you want to be associated with. No drug heads or dope dealers you know what I mean. There's nothing wrong with a few drinks in a ber. But you want to place yourself above hanging out in bars. Check out up scale clubs
