I can't stay committed to anything?

I can't stay committed to anything?
I'm 18 years old and all my life, I’ve never been able to be committed to a hobby, activity, sport, etc. for very long. Just a year ago I begged my parents for a bass guitar, and now it sits collecting dust. One week I’m obsessed with a TV show, the next week a video game, the next a book series, and by then I’ve lost nearly all interest in the TV show. I have a few main interests – music, media arts, cinematography, psychology, social justice – but my focus on each changes so often that I’m not completely dedicated to or talented in one or the other. I’ve managed to play piano and violin all my life, but even then I often lose motivation. Currently I’m interested in taking up figure skating (I have been for a long time), but I’m not sure I’d be able to commit to the hard work needed to be good enough (plus I have to wait another year; there isn’t a skating rink where I live).

So basically, I’m fatally indecisive and uncommitted. Sometimes it gets in the way of schooling and even relationships with family/friends. I don’t know what I want in life. What can I do about this?

This is your nature my dear, and you have come to the right planet. This is the planet of experience and free will, so take no notice of what others think, you are here to play the game and your spirit knows it.
Its called the game of life, so go and do whatever takes your fancy and then move onto the next illusion, because thats all there is. Love, life, family, partners, kids, jobs, you are the creator of what you need when you need it. Do not change. Your being true to yourself and thats all you can ever be, trust me it has taken me nearly 60 years to know this truth.
So go have fun and experience everything and then some.

At least when you get older you won't regret that you didn't give all those hobbies and interests a chance. Keep trying new experiences and soon you'll latch onto the right one. However, just say no to drugs.
