I assume you want to stay in business for the long haul, so:

Assume in the Internet era that a sales pitch is hard to sell and work on your value proposition. If you are worried excessively about copy and graphics suggest the time and effort be put back into the product or service. Make value the policy.
And, assume you will blogging and responding to social networks for every problem you have (and hopefully successes) so honesty and responsiveness become policy.
And, finally, assume an exclusive advantage you have can be lost in a hurry in a Global market, so do not strictly rely on any competitive advantage and make a policy to acquire and keep customers. Products and Services and relative advantages come and go, but if your customers are always willing to give a shot at their business you can win over binding contracts.

Hello,

As my father always told me, "There is only ONE way to make money in any business - blood, sweat, and tears."

And that's the truth.

What he's referring to is this - coming up with your own business or website is EASY. Getting people to know about it is hard. Getting people to give you their hard-earned money is even harder.

To market some websites, here are some good tips to start with:

1. Make SURE your website has a "list builder."
You need a way to collect visitor's email addresses so that you can send them newsletters or bi-weekly new offers. Give away free stuff to your websites.

2. Joint ventures are always good!
Study your competition and offer to email your list their product in exchange from them emailing your product to their subsciber list. You may have to give them a bit of comission, but you'll make money without having to sell your product, and you make money off of their product as well!

4. Have a moderate AdWords account.
Start an AdWords account with a low budget - maybe $25 a week. That way, you can ensure TARGETED traffic to your website.

5. Start a blog at http://www.blogger.com
Start writing on the subject that your product is about. At the bottom of each blog, give a link to your website.

6. Write articles on the subject.
Start writing and submitting articles on the subject to article directories. Put a link to your website at the bottom.

I hope this helps!

-M

P.S. This is just the TIP of the iceberg on marketing!

=)
