Why doesn't my boyfriend want our relationship on Facebook?
Ok, like I've said in a previously asked question my boyfriend and I have been together for 3 month, we have a close and happy relationship and have met each others families and friends. We go to the same college and walk and sit together. People have asked him if I'm his girlfriend when we've been seen together and he's not afraid to say yes so I don't think he's embarrassed of me or what not. He said when we got together let's keep it of Facebook because it's better not many people knowing and getting involved. I'm 16 and he's almost 18 so we are not children and are very mature. I have had feelings that he could be talking to other girls on Facebook and maybe that's why he doesn't want our relationship on Facebook but I really don't think he's like that. What should I do?

He's seeing other women and don't want you to tag him in pictures or statuses. That sums it up.

Ask yourself, do you trust him?

Maybe he has friends who would give him a hard time for going out with a 16 year old? There's nothing objectively wrong with that, but (depending on where you live) he is technically an adult and you are technically a minor. So maybe someone he knows has a problem with that.
Or perhaps he has a friend who likes you, or otherwise knows you, and is trying to avoid something awkward from happening. There could be a million reasons.

Personally, I would ask. Express that you would really like to make it "Facebook official" because you're proud to have him as your boyfriend (kind of guilt-tripping, but whatever lol) and ask why he specifically doesn't want it on Facebook. He should be able to be honest with you.

Facebook is a place for remembering good friends and seeing how there lives are and comforting them when there down by any means necessary even when your insulting another person. Kind of a reverse psychology. Not for dating someone. If your too afraid to hang out and talk in real life, then there's some hidden insecurity there especially if you live close to each other. Facebook works for long distant relationships because you can check there status, but when you live near each other, it's better to just hang out at each others houses and intertwine that way. As i always tell people, it is better to get to know a person in person than to use a cell phone texting and using the internet because you will find out more about the person and have more of a connection. In my opinion, going on facebook for a connection is childish and embaresting.
