How do I send a minecraft world to a friend?

My friend asked me to make him an amusement Park in Minecraft and when I was done I couldn't figure out how to send it. I have looked around a lot but I do not have an archiving program on my computer. I have made a zipped file of the saved world but I can't send it. Please help!

Worlds in single player are saved under the directory: %appdata%/.minecraft/saves

Download an archive program such as WinRAR (note: your friend will need it too to extract the world) and archive the whole folder, then send it to them either through an instant messaging program (Skype or Facebook as examples) or via file-sharing sites (Mediafire, Mega, Skydrive).

Your friend will need to extract and place the world in their saves directory if single player, or their server directory if multiplayer.
