how to meet new people?

Hello
So after suffering from social anxiety and getting panic attacks as well as being bullied my parents decided to home school me. Due to this I am 17 and have no friends at all.
I really want to meet people and to get some friends and was just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to where I can meet new people.
Obviously I still have social anxiety so itd be easier if it was one to one rather than big groups.
Also I don't have Facebook or any other social networking sites.

You know im not much of a social person either but I can't come up with an awesome answer for you. I think you should rephrase your question and try posting it again. Maybe with the title. Need new friends, help.
and then put all that stuff.. and ask if anyone ever had to start fresh and how they meet new people.
