Students Rights and Privacy?
Being a student i really want to know what my rights are!
If me and one of my friends go to the bathroom when we have a free class or anytime This teacher always walks in to like see what were doing and tells us to get out, were not doing anything we would be only going toilet but i don't think its right for her to just walk in, Its a students toilet we should have some privacy rights against that! And a girl in my school got frapped on twitter and tweeted a celebrity messing, Someone told the school what she said and she got called in which and was made log onto her twitter and take her account down, It's nothing got to do with the school what happened and then they went onto her facebook and looked at it without her consent! And can a teacher make you stand in the corner in class for the whole class, I think its very inappropriate and I dont think a teacher had a right to make you stand in the corner in a Secondary school. Also this p.e women p.e teacher always walks in on the girls while getting changed, It makes them feel violated and paranoid, Is she allowed do that? It would be great if someone told me my rights on all of those! Thanks. Ads |

A minor's rights are controlled by his or her parents. If your parents want to address issues with the school on your behalf, they can do so. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

I'm going to put this is succinctly as I can.
1. Student bathrooms are a school facility that they *must* monitor. You have no right to privacy there. 2. Facebook and Twitter are not private and may be viewed by anyone, including school personnel. What users make available to the public is their choice, and the school may punish within their guidelines. 3. Your school may allow making a student stand in a corner, which might be embarrassing. If you object to it, you must address it with your school's administration. 4. P.E. teachers have *always* had access to locker rooms while students change clothes. Generally speaking, do you really think that responsible adults are going to leave any area of the school completely to the students to do as they wish? That would be asking for trouble. |
