I heard they will be forcing us to use timeline and a lot of people have it except me is that normal?

Yes it is normal. Anyhow Timeline is going to become default profile look from 30th of march. So don't worry u r going to get it very soon :-P

Which country r u in ? U will get FB Timeline, soon. Many people got e update/change to FB Timeline but they dont like it/dont want it. FB profile : FB Timeline with many new features.
Suggestion made. Do as u deem fit.

m not really sure about the deadline... but enjoy the old view while you can....
