A file disappeared from my desktop on my computer?

I was transferring my music from the app mymedia on my ipod. I downloaded a couple songs but when the transfer was over, the folder disappeared. I have no idea where it went and I think it has a virus connected to it. My keyboard is lagging while I play minecraft and a link showed up when I clicked on facebooks home button asking me if I wanted to download a file, something like download.html, and i think that folder is the cause of all this. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

When a file is deleted (even when removed from the Recycle Bin) the files are marked as deleted, however it is not removed from the hard drive. Assuming no other file has overwritten the deleted file on the hard drive a recovery program can be used to recover deleted files. you can use a free program such as Recuva to get back what disappeared http://www.piraform.com Another option is to do a system restore back before the date you started transferring files . And a download html is just that its a pointer so to dpeak to a file you may have downloaded but did not complete so it leaves it on your desktop in case you wish to resume it a way of pointing to where you have the file
