Why don't I show up on any records?
Today, I was searching myself on the internet and my name never showed up. I'm on Twitter and Facebook but my accounts never showed up either. I tried some people searching websites to see if I would show up, but I never did. There's no public records of me or anything. The websites were saying that there are no records of me in the state and one website even said there wasn't any records of me throughout the entire country! I was spelling my name right and everything so I don't understand what's going on, am I just not listed or am I somebody else?

It depends on how old you are. If you are like 13 or 14 or something than you wont show up. You need to be 18 and have to have a record about you. Like for e.g: Brother/Sister, Husband/Wife and other stuff like that.

Hope this helped,

Ciao.

I am not sure about Facebook & Twitter, unless as the prior answer suggested, you are under 18. In that case you are being protected and be glad for that. As for a name search, unless you have a listed phone in your name, or have a job where your name is listed, there are few if any public records that are open for search. Again, this is a good thing with all the Identity theft and crazy people running around.

In my case I only show up when I belong to professional associations, I have presented at a conference, or written a published article.

For a quick crash course in how search engines work Google "search engine optimization" or SEO. A common person's Twitter and Facebook are usually not prioritized, hit, or matched well enough to show up on Google all the time.

Public records are records kept by a public agency for a public purpose. Most that contain personal data on living folks are protected by privacy laws. They are not exactly the same thing as public domain or information that is freely accessible to the general public.

Not everything is on the internets machine. Just because you can't find it on the internet doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You likely have a birth certificate that is stored in a county and a state building. Thank god I can't Google your name and get a hold of it.

That's it Staci, you are someone else! Like Alice looking through the looking glass!

Don't complain; the more you are on the net, the more problems you will have in life.
