Military Ball: should I ask a girl through Facebook?

I have the military ball in a couple weeks and want to bring this girl as my date. We are friends in college. I'm pretty sure we both acknowledge we are friends, but not entirely sure.

We never see each other anymore since we aren't in the same classes. Is it okay to ask her through Facebook?

Never, never never (did I say "Never"?) ask anyone out on Facebook!!! If you're not "entirely sure" that she also thought of you as a friend, you can be "entirely sure" that if you ask her out on Facebook, you won't be friends. This is one of the lamest things a guy can do.

Send her a message over Facebook just to say hi and ask about her classes. This way, you could find out where she could be found so you could ask her in person.
