Has GOP spent too much time and money on Benghazi Hearings?
GOP congressman blasts NY Times Benghazi claims as ‘misleading’

A top congressional Republican is saying a new report that concludes Al Qaeda did not carry out the 2012 attack on the U.S diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, is “misleading.”

The new report published Saturday in the New York Times concludes that there was no evidence that Al Qaeda or other international terrorist groups had any role in the assault that killed four Americans on September 11, 2012, and that it appeared that the attack was fueled in large part by anger at an American-made anti-Islamic video, as the Obama administration first claimed.

New York Rep. Peter King, member and former chairman of the House’s Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, told Fox News the argument that the most overtly anti-Western militia, Ansar al-Shariah – not Al Qaeda – led the attack is an academic argument over semantics, considering Ansar al-Shariah is widely believed to be an affiliate terror group of Al Qaeda.

“It’s misleading,” King said. “It’s a distinction without a difference.”

The claims by the New York Times also conflicts with other evidence, including the testimony of Greg Hicks, the deputy of Ambassador Christopher Stevens who was killed in the attack. Hicks described the video as "a non-event in Libya" at that time, and consequently not a significant trigger for the attack

It would also contradict a separate report by a leading social media firm that found that the first reference to the anti-Islam film that was initially blamed for sparking the attack was not detected on social media until a day later.

"I have post the Fox News Website Response because Fox News was running Benghazi into the ground and replaced it with Obamacare Stories."
I want everyone to Read the NY Times Article for yourselves, because it tells a very different story then what we have been hearing. The CBO has yet to post even the final cost to Taxpayers these Congressional Hearing and I think that's not right as a Taxpayer!

20 Benghazi hearings have yielded the exact same results as the first hearing on Benghazi did. It was a tragic killing of four Americans by extremists, the president sent in a team to help rescue the victims. Half a dozen were rescued, but they couldn't save the other 2, and two of the men who were sent in were killed in the fire fight. Thus, debunking the republican claim that Obama told them to "stand down" and that Obama "was Mia" during the attack.

Yes, just as they did with Fast and Furious, the IRS "scandal", etc. But Darrell Issa kept the promise he made when he was reelected, to hold investigations 5 days a week, 40 weeks out of the year. He doesn't care that he made it obvious that it didn't really matter what about, he was just going to hold them.

You mean like the democrats spent time and money investigating republicans? The attack in Libya was watched for over 7 hours and the troops we could have sent in were ordered to stand down. In my view the current administration left 4 Americans to die at the hands of a pack of savages.

gee, at what point do we say, "its not financially sound to continue to investigate depraved indifference to murder by a president who leaves four American citizens to die at the hands of barbarians without recourse?" contrary to liberal trumpeting, it isn't about party lines, ITS ABOUT MURDER AND LYING.
