Is there a limit to how many messages you can have in your inbox on Facebook?

A friend and I were wondering if there is and if they tell you or if they just start deleting messages (sort of like some phones with text messages). We have looked on Facebook but can't seem to find the awnser there. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been using Facebook for over two years and every message I have ever sent or received is available to me.

I believe the only time a message may be deleted is if the person you received the message from/to opts to delete their Facebook account completely. I don't have 100% confirmation of this but this is what it looks like.

Otherwise there is no limit to the number of messages that are stored in there.
