Can fb fanpages like other fanpages or do anything comparable to friend requests?

Other words, what can I do to be more of a go getter instead of just waiting for more people to just come to my page?

Yes, you can search the page when your using it as your fanpage not your self. Then search a page and click like. Its that simple.

If you're an admin of a facebook page, click on the small arrow on the right side of “Home”, and you'll see a list of pages you're the admin of. Clicking on either one will let you use facebook as that page. Once in it, liking other pages will put them under your page's likes. Take a look at this page, for example: http://www.facebook.com/horseracingisfun
The page's likes can be seen on its timeline.
