Creating a facebook page as a Graphic Designer?
I'm an undergraduate graphic designer and am in the process of creating a website in Dreamweaver and such for one of my final projects. It's important to network and to get my name out there and i would like to link my website to a facebook page that show cases my work and tells what I do. The actual Dreamweaver site that I'm building wont be a live site, it's just homework. But, i do know that people spend a lot of time on facebook and I think that creating a facebook page would be a good first step into putting myself out there instead of uploading and maintaining an actual website. My question is should i create a page for an artist/band/public figure? and if so, will facebook allow me to display my work in an album like they normally do with a regular profile? Hope that makes sense.

You can create a business page to showcase your work, but the problem is that anyone who is considering hiring you to design a web site is going to want to see a live site first and not just some screenshots on a facebook page. Maintaining the site will keep you in practice and many internet service providers offer free web hosting with their internet service, so check with your ISP.
