if i join a group on facebook can other members of the group see additional information about my account , or they are treated as if they are people not not my friend list.

No.. depending on your privacy settings on your facebook account,
if your account is set to only confirmed friends can see your details then this applies to the members of the group too so they wont be able to see your information
