those living in free thinking liberal societies like western countries might not realise its potential but for those living in countries which lack freedom of expression, to them and to their society especially, its a great boon!

the arab uprising was totally a result of communication through the social media as in those countries there is no other way or method for people to communicate openly against organizing protests against their rulers.

social media also makes communication across different countries possible. I'm in India and god knows where you are.

Social media makes this world a smaller place, brings people together and is a very important platform / tool especially to social and political activists and also individuals who want to bring about a social change.
