HELP!!! PLEASE :) Does he still like me?

We are good friends.
Him and his GF of a few years recently broke up.
Do you think he likes me?

1. He always talks to me and sits next to me
2. He asks how I am- a few days ago I was studying and we were sitting next to each other and he asked me if I was ok and I smiled and said I was perfect and he said "I know you are but are you ok?" Omg I almost died lol
3. He said he loved me in a friendly way and I said jokingly, "I know it's hard not to" and he said "it is"
4. And we were joking around about grades and I said I would give him two gold stars and a silver one and he said he'd hold me to that and brought it up over the next few days.
5. I was complaining about the upcoming Valentines day and how I would be sad and alone and he said "Do I need to buy you a Valentines?" and I was like "Yes." hehe. When he brought up the three stars thing the next day I said "where's my valentine?"

There are more but this was like 4-5 days ago

After the long weekend I feel like he isn't as interested
Heres what happened today:

1. he told me not to be just a cat lady but to also find my soul mate
2. He said we were "bonding" when I was sticking my cat's hair on him off of my clothes lol (i'm a cat person in case it isn't obvious)
3. He asked me again where his gold stars were. I said "where's my valentines?" and he said "you'll get that on valentines day" and I said "and you will get your stars then too!"
4. Also I was searching for prom dresses and he saw and I was like I don't know why I'm looking no one is going to take me and thats really sad and hes like its not sad. It's only sad if you make it sad.
5. ABOVE ALL I was saying how I am lonely and he's like "you don't need no man!"

Boo Hoo...

Basically I took all of this to mean that he wasn't going to ask me out to prom or ask me out period.

What do you think? Do you think I should still pursue him? Maybe I'm just overreacting.. Maybe he's never liked me...
