my friend put a picture up of me (with her and her friends) on facebook. I do not have facebook so I didnt realise it was up until my friend told me. I look really bad in it and i hate it! I asked my friend to take it down but she wont!
Is there anyway i can contact fb even if i dont have an account to ask them to take the picture down? Thanks xx Ads |

They wouldn't do it even if you could contact them.

Yes, you can contact facebook and explain that you never gave your permission to show that photo, and that your friend refuses to take it down, despite your multiple requests to do so.
If that doesn't help, you could think about taking legal actions, since it violates your privacy. |

If you didn't give this person consent to post this picture of you, write to: legal@facebook.com and inform them. Provide them of your friend's account and the approximate date it was posted.
They may be curious as to why were you IN it to begin with and didn't move out of it before it was taken. If you didn't know you were in it when it was taken that may help your argument. If you're 18 or older, contact a lawyer for assistance. If not tell your parents and ask them to help. You want FB to cease and desist display of an image which includes you that you prohibited. FB is a truly evil system, and a lot of social harm comes to people because of it... and if it wasn't it's stock it would have ZERO value at all. People give up their right to privacy because of it. The reality though is if you have to consult an attorney, and be prepared to spend a LOT of money! The lesson about being in an image is worth a lot more than what you'll spend trying to get it removed though... is it worth legal fees? Probably not. Good luck. |
