Facebook is simpler, was around for the same length of time sort of and people probably sent invites to their friends, said join facebook, you don't need to find backgrounds, you can do all these apps easier, games, groups... it just had more in a simpler way. It did seem kinda sudden, though. :O

Because myspace was ridiculously easy to hack someones account on and it gave computers viruses and child molesters were on there and there were (basically) naked pictures free for children to look at.

Facebook is much safer, basically.

myspace is intended to give webspace to the user, a customizable profile page that u can give links out to.
Facebook overtook myspace cuz even though it didn't provide as much freedom customizing the profile, facebook creators realised it wasn't that which people were after, it was the interconnectivity an the ability to easily find an add ur friends

Facebook to better privacy settings
Testing a series of changes to its privacy controls for about five months, Facebook decided to make them official, founder Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday.

In an open letter, Zuckerberg explained the necessity of new security controls as the social community has now reached more than 350 million people.

One of the major changes is to eliminate "regional networks," or groupings of people based on where they live, Zuckerberg added on his company's blog on Wednesday.

The powerful social connector allows people belonging to the same school, club, company or even city to be grouped together as networks. Information and photos of members of the same network are available for each other, sometimes a complete stranger.

"As Facebook has grown, some of these regional networks now have millions of members, and we've concluded that this is no longer the best way for you to control your privacy,"

facebook respects your privacy..
