contacting someone - Facebook or phone?
I need to get ahold of someone (see below), and I'd appreciate thoughts / opinions about which would be the better way to contact them -- by Facebook message, or by phone.

I bought from a photographer who sells photos through a 'digital storefront.' The Web site hosts people's photos for them. When orders are placed, the site processes the payments, but the photographers themselves handle the rest (shipping, etc).

I never got my order, and the site's customer service folks say they can't reach this photographer. (Turns out that the contact info that they have on-file was outdated / never updated.) But I easily found newer info for him.

So I can either call, or send a Facebook message. It seems like the phone would be faster and more direct -- and even friends of mine often ignore my FB messages. But, I tend to trip over my words when I'm talking. So neither method really seems ideal to me.

I'm not sure if the person even KNOWS he has an order waiting, but he has the payment and I have no product, so I'd like to get things settled. (I don't want a refund, either.)

I know I was a bit wordy, but I'd definitely appreciate people's opinions here.

Since it's an enquiry about a payment, facebook message seems a little informal, at least, on its own.

Ring up the photographer, and if they don't answer, leave a message, briefly stating how you have an outstanding order that you haven't received, and that you have given payment and not been given your photos. Politely ask them to ring you back at an appropriate time, stating any time when you won't be able to answer, and perhaps mentioning another number to contact you on if you're out.

Next leave them a facebook message stating that you have tried to phone them, but got their voicemail, so left a message, because you haven't received your paid for order. Ask them again to ring you up at a time that's good for both of you, listing numbers that they should try phoning you on.

If they have an email, send the same message from the Facebook message through email as well, so that there's no way they won't see it.

If they answer the phone, obviously ignore the second two things.

And when speaking to them, just explain how you did on yahoo answers in the details. You're not in the wrong remember!
