Nexus 4 or Sony Xperia ZL?

I'm looking to buy a new phone and I'm stuck between the two. I use my phone for texting, texting apps, photos, youtube, facebook, web browsing, email, work, music, and a few games. I'm with WIND so I prefer an unlocked phone. I do travel quite a bit and go overseas (Philippines) or to America for a few weeks. I value battery life the most.

Putting this into consideration, which phone do you recommend? Or if you have any other phone recommendations, why and how is it better than the two in the title?

Well the nexus 4 stopped selling by google. But anyway i would so get the nexus 4 over the sony but if i were you i would get the nexus 5 which is an amazing phone that's super fast and will suit you're needs well

I have used the cheaper Xperia ZR so I kinda know how the mid-high range xperia performs. Xperia ZR had the same processor of 1.5 Ghz quad core and 2 Gb ram as the xperia ZL and I know for a fact that Xperia ZR is fast coz I've actually used it and my dad's still using it. I played games like Nova 3, Asphalt 8, REal racing 3. All of them are big high end 3D games specially real racing 3 that needs a lot of space and configuration to run smoothly and I'm just telling you my actual experience with the device. IT NEVER GOT SLOW ON ANY OF THESE GAMES. I didn't expect it to play Real racing 3 with so much ease, it did. The phone overall has never lagged or freezed. Now coming to the Xperia ZL having twice the internal memory of Xperia ZR there's no doubt that it would perform even better. Nexus 4 is a good option for this price but honestly it has 8 mp camera and a lower battery life, the only reason I'd be attracted by nexus is if there was any difference between the stock android's performance and sony's customized android OS and I know for a fact that sony xperia ZR never got slow! It has always been snappy and fast with all my apps and games in it and obviosuly Xperia ZL would be even better in performance. So that clearly eliminates nexus out of the list. I feel the Xperia ZL is superior in camera, battery life, the only thing that bugs me is that it isn't waterproof like the Xperia ZR. The drawbacks of ZR can be it's 8 Gb internal memory and poor secondary camera compared to ZL. Zl has 16 Gb internal and a 2 mp camera. If I was in your place I would rather get the Xperia ZR, it's cheaper and the secondary camera is not an issue for me. Waterproofing actually has saved my device few times! or it would've been dead in heavy rain
