When will bigots learn not to mix their private prejudices with their public life?
There was Dan Kelly of Chick-fil-A, then Paula Deen of the Food Network, then Phil Robertson of A&E, now it's PR Director Justine Sacco of the New York media company IAC.

She was recently fired after a Tweet from her private account went viral.

The tweet, "Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just kidding. I'm white!" sparked outcry online and spurred a hashtag that trended on Twitter.

You can't legislate opinions, everybody gets that. But if you're going to share your bigotry and hatred with the rest of the world then expect to be judged.

You mean like the one who said Trayvon Martin was like a son to him...

Bigots only learn from their own experiences and don't believe anything they read.

More importantly, when will people learn not to do that with an account that has their name and a picture of themselves on it. Felonious, you and I can say whatever crazy stuff we want to on here, and as long as we aren't using these profiles on the company network, they will never find out that it's us.

@Jay, freedom of speech protects you from the government. It does not force your employer to keep you in his employ. None of these people were arrested for saying these things. I can hardly believe that I would agree with liberals on something, but they are right to facepalm at these people.

What is funny is that President Obama made anti american statements through college and was a member of the Socialist party ( all public record). But half these people you listed said this stuff in the same time frame and their still guilty but President Obama is not?

Then on Phil, here is a religious man asked about his beliefs on a subject. He gave them anyone that is familiar with his base in his religion should not be surprised at what he said on homosexuality. Then the press nails him for it. Heck that is like asking Obama if he would side with a black man or a white man in a situation. Everyone knows he would side with the black man from his past actions. Whether thy were right or wrong.

Now on the racism issue Phil stated he worked alongside blacks and he was one of them. He never said they were happier with the Jim Crow laws. What he said was we were happier when we all worked and weren't handed welfare. Studies prove a person is happier when they make their own way. It gives pride in ones self and their accomplishments. The twisted crap the press put out was not substantiated by what Phil stated and in fact was not even close, unless they are saying you are prejudice for working with and understanding people of a different heritage?
