How to disable notifications of comments made by other users on Facebook?

Once I made comments on my friend's statuses/photos/videos...etc., I keep getting notifications on the global Facebook icon from other people that aren't on my Facebook friend list, but is a mutual friend. It's letting me know that they commented on my friend's Facebook. I don't want to know that. How do I disable the notification?

That's weird, usually, from what I've noticed, is that after a certain amount of comments Facebook should stop sending you notifications. If I'm correct, there are two ways to save yourself from all the unnecessary notifications, you go to the photo and there should be a button that says "Unfollow Post", if not, just delete your comments.
