I don't get certain notifications on facebook?

I don't get notifications from links, so if I posted a youtube link, I wouldn't get any notifications if someone liked it, or if they commented on it. This happens for all links, and also I don't get notifications if someone likes my comment on a facebook page, only if its a friend that likes it I still get the notification. However on my iPod, which I have facebook installed on, I get these notifications, WHY?

Log on to Facebook and click on the white "Account" link in the top-right corner of your Facebook screen. Choose "Account Settings" from the drop-down menu.

Click the "Notifications" tab.

Scroll down to the "Apps" section at the bottom of the screen. Click the "Show More" link to see all apps, if you have too many to be shown on the "Notifications" screen.

Check the box to the right of an application to resume email notifications.

Click the "Save Changes" icon at the bottom of the page
