Facebook notifications on Nokia Lumia 620?

I have the app downloaded and the settings on it are all ticked for toast and tile counts. However, someone inboxed me and wasn't notified on my phone and I didn't see until I went on Facebook.

the facebook app doesnt help much in notifications.
for messages try using the integrated facebook chat. Just go to messages-->settings-->use facebook chat.
