How to save custom settings for a Facebook post? (PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION)?

So, I know how to set "Custom" settings to a post to decide who can view my posts.., BUT When I set Custom and choose who can view/can't view the post and SAVE IT and then I want to change it back to "Friends" (for example) and then I change it again to "Custom", the Custom Settings a did ARE GONE!!! SO, HELP ME, I NEED A WAY TO SAVE THEM FOREVER SO OR UNTIL I DECIDE TO CHANGE THEM!!! PLEASE!

you make custom lists, you dont set that up under the custom thingie

once you have your lists set up, you can post a status update and as for who can see it, you just type the name of the list(s)
