a few questions about facebook privacy?
i got rid of my facebook awhile ago because of some family drama that happened and i dont want pretty much anyone in my family to be friends with me on facebook this time now that i have made a new one. i just want to be friends with my friends and maybe a few relatives.

now if i put my page on private, can people who are friends with those relatives see that i have a profile? i dont even want them to see that i have a facebook.

and will people be able to search for me? what about will i show up in the people you might know section?

i just really want to avoid certain people and if i cant then i dont want to have facebook. thank you Smile

If you go to privacy settings and set everything to private, even your pictures and location then people who are on your friends' friends lists cant see you, nor can they search for you. If you set everything to private, including your friends list, you dont have to worry about people you dont like contacting you. that includes the 'people you might know' box. hope this helps!

Essentially what the other two said. You can also check how your profile looks to others in case you're not sure. I've got mine in private for certain reasons too and am always checking.

Oh, remember, too, that any Facebook changes made sometimes affects privacy settings so go back in to double check cos sometimes you have to re-set them.
