I want to meet people that have gone through child custody preferably guys going through the same stuff as me. Are there any support groups out there like fathers for kids or something

i'm a girl. But I guess my dad fought for my custody but he didn't get it because he was abusive to my mother and had a criminal record so.

Their is actually a "father's rights movement" in America that has a powerful lobby behind it that is making a huge impact in state custody cases. The courts have made a major shift in recognizing the importance of a father in a child's life. More and more they are awarding joint custody to both parents.

This is establishing new case law that gives your attorney ammo to use in court. If you were going through this 10 years ago you would have had a near impossible fight, but today you have as much right to your child as she does in the eyes of the courts.

The links below are a great resource. You should also check with the state you are in and see if they have a similar resource for you.

I wish you the best! Good luck!
