Why isn't the Facebook page I just made for my business visible to anyone?

I made a new facebook page for my restaurant. I tried to send out invites using my email contacts and all it says is that they will be sent out shortly. When I log on in my personal page I do a search it doesn't come up. What did I do wrong?
