Find out if the college is primarily using Windows software (OS), if the are using Windows OS in your classes, than a Windows OS phone might be best if the phone software will be compatible with what you use in school and your PC.

Otherwise a Google (Android) phone might simply be good too.

If you will be using the Smartphone for class work, look into finding out if a Windows phone will actually be helpful to use at school. You might find that for actual class work you'll be using a PC, notebook, or laptop, tablet.

All my class work (IT certification videos) is simply watching online streaming videos; but I use a Windows PC for class time since we need (sometimes) to access certain Windows programs like a command line prompt, and other Windows 'system windows' for configuring networks. At home I hardly ever use the Windows PC, but use my MacBookPro. The only real use that I use my Smartphone for in class is getting emails from the instructor, and for that I use my iPhone 5.

My devices:
favorite: MacBookPro (Apple OS)
favorite: iPhone 5 (Apple iOS)
because of school: ASUS notebook (with Windows 8)

Hi Tridona,

I'd recommend the Nokia Lumia 520, for around 8820Rs.
http://www.flipkart.com/nokia-lumia-520/...abc04c02a5

It has Microsoft Office built in; for Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote built in. There's support for almost any email account (including Yahoo!, Microsoft and Google); with support for multiple inboxes.
It has Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Xbox also built in. There's Nokia Music for completely free and unlimited music mixes, and the world's best maps. The home screen makes it really easy to organise all your favourite people, apps and information.

It has 8GB of storage with expandable memory, a 5MP camera and a super sensitive 4" touchscreen.

Hope this helps!
