Facebook notifications off deleted friend?

Does anybody know if you delete someone off facebook and you have pictures with them that you are tagged in does facebook still tell you through notification? Basically me and my very recent ex have split up and loads of girls are commenting on photos of me and him together saying he looks sexy etc, childish I know but not something I don't want to see. There is more than 500 photos of us together so will take ages to delete them. If I delete him will it still tell me?

The photos will not be removed but you will continue receiving notifications if you are the owner of the album.

If you're the one tagged in the photos and your bf uploaded them, the tags will remain on the image even if you delete our bf so you will, again, continue relieving notifications.
