Is it legal for a 12 year old to make a PTC site?
A PTC site is a site which pays it's users to click advertisements. I was just wondering if a 12 year old could make one. Thanks.
@JIM, I want to make one... just wondering if I legally can. Ads |

I can't tell you for sure but 12 year olds should be playing outside, not coding websites and paying people to click on pixels with money they get from a weekly allowance.

Are you asking if a 12 year old has the technical know how? I am sure some do.
Does he meet the legal requirements to enter into a binding contract? No |

Such sites are invariably scams. Payments are either very small but mostly non existent.
The site will ask for bank details and would not accept a child user |

I rather doubt it. When it comes to anything with money, contracts, explicit or implicit, are usually involved. Minors (under the age of 18) can't make contracts.
Sorry. |

Websites that pay users to click on advertisements who have no intent to purchase products from said advertiser usually are breaking the contractual agreement between the advertiser, regardless of age.
Also, it depends on your location but where I'm from it IS unlawful for a 12 year old to enter into any contract... In fact, legally you aren't even allowed to have a myspace, facebook, or Yahoo! Answers account... because you have to agree to a terms of service which is, in itself, a contract. |
