A great way to start a photography blog would be to create a Tumblr account and blog from there, and I believe you can buy domains for your blog, but i'm not sure.

Get started with a blogging site like blogspot or something. I'd suggest Tumblr since there are a lot of nice themes catering to photographers and theres also a nice photography community. You should learn some Photoshop too.

Wordpress offers a pretty easy set-up and a number of free, clean-looking formats. I use Wordpress.

i'm doing mine with wordpress.
i had some trouble finding the right theme, and in the end i had to choose a premium theme, since all the others just didn't make me happy. you can also try tumblr or something like that. the bigger the project of the platform the better! and this works without any software. you'll just have to get a little knowledge of this stuff. but it's really easy if you google a bit.have fun building your blog! |

Firstly you have to choose which blogging platform you want to use. Each has their own reason for being good. To simply, Tumblr is more like a social network than a blog, Wordpress looks professional but doesn't allow for much customisation around the basic themes and blogger is the easiest and allows lots of customisation. There are other blogging platforms but these are the top three.
I blog with Blogger. You simply use your google account to sign in and it takes you through very simple steps to set up the basic blog. Over time you can customise it the way you want. Get a few photos posted. There is no point promoting a blog that has no content. Use Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Google+ (if you use them) to promote your blog. In particular, if your Facebook page has many likes, then use this place to promote your blog. Pinterest is the perfect place to promote your blog as the whole basis of this website is pictures! Twitter is usually the top social network to use as it is very easy to find and follow fellow bloggers. Lastly, get on blogging forums. These are great places to get advice, blog reviews and get new followers on your blog. Oh and remember, "give and take". If you take the time to go to other people's relevant blog and comment/follow there, they might return the favour. Good Luck with it. |
