I want to hear what people REALLY think about Facebook (from non-users), like what you say behind people's back when they say "you mean you don't have Facebook!"...or when they say "IIIII have 279 friends!! How many friends do YOU have?!".

I want to hear what you say (or think) behind their backs.

I don't doubt that Facebook offers many advantages to many people--for sure.

"BUT" I want to check out the "darker" side...something that sum's up Facebook and WHY you think it's REALLY popular (sociologically speaking)...and I don't want to hear "so we can all keep in touch!"...because that means you probably already have an account; I want to hear from non-users (or ex-users).

Not to get too "facebooky" with you, but "HERE'S SOME OF MY THOUGHTS (vomit) that I had today on the subject:

"Facebook appeals to losers who can't make friends in real life"
"Facebook is for people who don't want to spend any money actually going out with their friends"
"Facebook (by virtue of it's thousands of online partnerships) is the Paypal of social networks." (you don't have to re-register every time you come to a new site, you just sign-in with your FB login)."
"Facebook is social marketing...of oneself."
"Facebook offers self-centered people the ultimate stage...under the PRETENSE of "networking" (super clever of facebook capitalizing on the human ego/psyche). No one's really interested in OTHERS' profiles. They're only TRULY interested in (ok, 90%) improving their facebook site (improving their marketing)."

None of this is meant to bash Facebook. They're just some ideas (right or wrong) that crossed my mind as a non-user. I'm hoping you guys can play the same game and give me your summary quote or summary thought about Facebook.

a way 2 do something without doing anything. some poeple say fb is so popular becuz u can talk w/ all these people, look @ pictures of peoples recent trips, & u can laugh w/ ur friends without making any calls or driving anywhere. You can do so much w/o doing anything.
