why do my parents snoop through all my things?
Im 15.
I dont have many friends.so i dont party.
I have a 4.0 gpa and am always good although i have a messy room and occasionally argue like normal teenagers. The only thing i hide is my texts and search history since i talk about this guy i like and search signs a guy likes you lol. They look through my social media and confronted me asking why i said "wtf" once (i never really swear) they found my msgs and search history and asked about him and everything and im so embarrassed! Cant i have privacy and cant i be trusted? Every night they take my phone and pulls it out of my hands just to snoop when they catch me off guard. What should i do and why do they do this?

It's frustrating I know, but they do it because they love you and want to watch out for you. I almost think that being a good student and "good girl" make parents more overbearing, haha. I was in the same boat when I was 15/16.

I discovered that if I let my parents in on more about my life, they were less likely to snoop around. My Dad, for instance, looked at my texts because he wanted to know who my friends are and what I had been up to. He wasn't trying to be rude, he just wanted to know about my life and I never really offered up any information on my own. Your parents still see you as their little girl, and they still want you to rely on them and confide in them.

Try talking to them about little pieces of your day/your friendships (obviously not everything) and see how the privacy thing goes. It might take a few days, but they should back off once they realize that you want to let them in on the guy you like or a fight with a close friend.

Tell them that you want some more privacy, and maybe make some kind of agreement with the .

It's most likely because they care. They are worried, like good parents should be. Your not the only one, you'd be surprised how many people's parents doo the same thing. Yeah is super annoying, and gets on your nerves. Might even hurt your feelings a bit. You could always bring it up to them, in a muture way.

Or just don't do anything that you don't want then to see. I always clear my search history, and text messages. I put a passcode in my phone(if your parents allow it) I don't keep a diary, I delete all of my social apps when I'm not using my phone, and re-download them when I need them. I know it seems like a lot of work Smile but trust me, it's because they care. If they didn't care, they wouldn't give a shit about what you do. I also try to always have my phone on me, it hide it. Good luck Smile))))

I have no daughters, but I would want to protect her if I had one. That is what they think they are doing, but they are smothering you. They want to know everything you do and say. They need to loosen up and trust you. My mother would read my mail, too, and I know how embarrassing it can be.
