Did Facebook sell our address?
My husband got a letter in the mail today that is an obvious pyramid scheme. However, it was addressed to a fake name that he uses on Facebook (and only facebook). I checked his page and he does not have our address listed anywhere on his site. So...my questions....
Did Facebook sell our addy to outside companies? Can they do this? Is there any action I can take against them to stop future mailings? Thanks in advance.... He's never downloaded an application. He actually has absolutely nothing on the page. Only got it to e-mail an old friend. Ads |

maybe he has an application add-on on his facebook account. And when he agreed to install it the program collected data from his account.

Facebook has been known to sell addresses. You should have read what you agreed to when you signed on.

Unless Facebook's privacy policy states they will not sell your address, it is perfectly legal for them to sell that information. You can try returning the item marked "Addressee Unknown". The link below is from the website of the Direct Marketing Association. It may help stop junk mail.
