How do i get the facebook timeline?

How do i get the new Facebook timeline. I have been up most of the night for the past 31 days trying everything from changing to over 12 different browsers to downloading things to upgrading my computer to changing computers then changing computer types. All 26 of my friends within walking distance from where i live have it including the guy right next door to me . But the button never shows up. i contacted the Facebook help and they told me to go to the introducing timeline page and that is the page that never has the button ,my friend told me to go to create an app on the Facebook apps page but i went and don't even understand it i am not good with computers at all. i just know enough to get by that's it. i know its available in my area, but i just cant get it. is it that i have to add funds to my Facebook or something please help.
