It's not possible to block your profile picture. It's considered part of the basic information that you have to share including name and sex.

What you can do it block the rest of the album from being viewed
Account>privacy settings>customize settings> * Edit privacy settings for existing photo albums and videos.>profile pictures>friends only

1) Go to your homepage

2) Click the "Account" tab in the top, right-hand corner

3) Select "Privacy settings" from the drop-down menu

4) The page should switch to a little table, with a list down the left-hand side consisting of "Everyone; Friends Of Friends; Friends Only; Reccomended; Custom".

5) Click "Custom", and then select the little blue link next to it that says "Customize settings".

6) Change the privacy "locks" for each section of your Facebook profile.

P.S. "Posts by me" allows others to see your status updates, pages you have recently "liked", photo comments you have made - basically any activity you have made on your - or others' - wall/s. For safety reasons, I believe it's incredibly important to set this to "Friends only". If you set it to "Everyone", any given person can comb through your entire Facebook wall and you will be none-the-wiser. You can find out a LOT about a person from simply reading their wall. I'd also switch "Places I've checked into" to private, because you don't really want strangers knowing precisely where you've been, do you? Lastly, select "Edit privacy settings for existing photo albums and videos" at the bottom and set your albums to private, too. I know you may not think anything of having them public, but a lot of identity theft violations occur through people saving strangers' public Facebook photos and using them on fake accounts. I have everything set to private, and for good reason! Once you're satisfied with your settings, you can scroll up to the top of the page with the table and select "Preview my profile". This allows you to view your profile the same as someone who is not in your friends list would. There should ALSO be a search-bar where you can type in a friend's name and view your profile the same as they would (just type in anyone in your friends' list and check it out that way. There's no need to type in any specific person unless you've hidden certain posts from them only).

I hope this helped!
