For example, I ran a hashtag search for #religion on twitter and most of the comments were negative, like, '#religion is the cause of all the trouble in the world'

How do you defend your religion or religion in general?

Why defend the religion or the God or Goddess in question. If they are so powerful and they have a problem with it, and they are real, then they should be big enough as Divinities to handle it on their own. Otherwise they are either not, real, not that powerful or currently on vacation on other worlds making life elsewhere correcting all the screw ups done here.

I dont defend religion. I defend my faith. And my faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is all that I need. Organised religion is not a requirement for salvation. Most religions forget what the true teaching is -the teaching that is outlined in the Gospels. They elevate their traditions and rules to be equal with the Word and in some instances to a higher level.

So I do not follow a religion - I have a belief and I have faith in that belief. My teachings come from the Word of God alone and any practices inconsistent with the Word I avoid.

The organised religion of today and of centuries past is all about power and man's desire for power and control is what causes the problems we see. The belief system in its own right has nothing at all to do with it.

God's true Church believes that Jesus is God.

God's true Church believes in the Trinity.

God's true Church believes in the death of Christ on the Cross.

God's true Church will uphold the Moral Law(Ten Commandments)

God's true Church will Baptize by Immersion not Sprinkling.

God's true Church will not eat Unclean Foods(Pork, Catfish, etc.)

God's true Church will be a Worldwide Church preaching the message of Christ.

God's true Church will teach Biblical literal six day Creation. NO Evolution.

God's true Church will have the gift of Prophecy.

God's true Church will preach Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

God's true Church will stand against Sexual Immorality. Homosexuality, Adultery and Fornication are Sins.

God's true Church will preach against Strong drink. Alcohol is not allowed. (Proverbs 20:1).

Remember God's true last day Church will not be a popular Church. Most people will attack God's Biblical Church with vigilance. Satan himself will attack God's Church(Revelation 14:12) Truth crushed to the ground will always rise to the top.
