Did he block me on instagram?

A close guy friend of mine recently unfollowed me on Instagram and I found that weird so I asked him why and he said he didn't realize he done it and said that there's a problem with his Instagram and that it has happened before but I don;t know what to believe it doesn't make sense. He followed a few others today... I saw in my notification pan that he followed me but when I went on to his Instagram I was unable to see any photos or follow him. I want to believe that he's telling the truth and did not block me and that there's just something wrong with his Insta, but the way it seems is that he did block me and doesn't want to admit it or something? Anyone ever been in a situation like this?

I have and it is that he has blocked u because if he follows other people he should be able to follow u so pretty much be is lying and has blocked u
