Facebook users like to know when they get a comment or message. Rather than waiting for Facebook to inform you of a comment while you’re online, you can use push notifications on your iPhone/iPod Touch to let you know you have a message from a friend. Push notifications let you go about your daily life and alert you with a notification chime when you get a new message.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

1
Exit the Facebook application and go to the iPhone/iPod Touch Settings. You will find this in the Settings icon. Find the Facebook tab, and then choose Push Notifications.

2
Turn the push notifications on or off for several notification types, such as Messages, Wall Posts, Comments and Friend Requests. You also may choose to play a sound or have your device vibrate for these notifications; you will find this in the same location.

3
Verify your Notifications setting is on. From the main screen of your iPhone/iPod Touch, push the Settings icon, and then locate the Notifications tab. Turn on the notifications by pushing the Notifications tab; this will take you into a different screen where you will find a tab labeled “Notifications,” which should be set to “on."
