What does it mean if I still don't get an offer after 7 interviews?
I've also been on the job market for 6 months now and applied 60 places. Does that mean I suck? I quit my job in May bc someone doesn't talk to me ne more and deleted me from facebook. Then in August, I been through a layoff along with several others after a short time. What could I have been doing wrong that no one gives me an offer?

Seems you're not qualified for the jobs you are applying for.

It means that the job market sucks. Keep trying. You should consider aiming lower, too. Apply for some positions for which you are slightly overqualified. You may not get the salary/benefits that you are used to, but getting your foot in the door is probably better than nothing at this point.

1. Signs of the times...millions of people are hunting jobs.

2. You are not qualified for the jobs you are going after.

3. Your job history is following you around.

4. In this day and age, you should have kept the first job until the job market recovers.

5. See if you can get hired by a fast food place. Or maybe a movie theatre. Maid. Janitor. Hospital maintenance. Etc.

I wish you well in your search.

Why on earth did you quit your job?
Do you not understand there is a recession going on and most employers are downsizing (reducing staff) to cut costs?
Quitting your job because "someone don't talk to me no more" seems very immature

My cousin has been out of work for almost a year, many many applications
no interviews.. then this past week he has had 3 interviews and one more tomorrow.
I think he is has a real good chance of getting a job now.
You have to be patient and wait it out, be flexible as far as where you want to work,
be flexible about the job and you will find one eventually.
btw Facebook is not part of life, if they delete you big deal you still hold on to your job!

You need to find out why by asking the people you interview with. Maybe it's your skill level, maybe it's your attitude but whatever it is, you need to find out so you can stop the cycle. You also need to register at employment agencies and have them find work for you.

It is a difficult job market now, unless you have skills in a very valuable area, such as a register nurse.

As an fyi, about 80% of jobs are found by konwing someone, and not by applying online. Look around you for places that have employment support groups, especially churches. A church near me that I'm not a member of has a tremendous employment support group that is better than any government sponsored program that I ever went to. They talk a lot about job hunting strategies, an "elevator speech" where you can summarize your skills in about 1 minute, having business cards made that are a brief version of your resume. They critique your resume, have career testing, and computer classes - for free. So look around for something like that. Someone there could practice doing interviews with you. You might have errors on your resume. I am not trying to be mean, but you do have a couple of grammar mistakes in your question, and if you spoke like that in an interview, it might count against you. Find a really good book, like "Job Interviews for Dummies", and study it like you're in school.

I think your best options are to get some outside, expert help and join a group of other job seekers to support each other..

Also, you need to make sure that all your Facebook settings are as private as possible when you job hunt. Change all your settings for "friends only" and at your next job, don't friend your coworkers. Employers are definitely looking to see what's on your Facebook page.
