How do I make a Yahoo avatar?

If you type in yahoo avatar in the yahoo search it should pop up in the results saying "Avatars - Yahoo! messenger," near the bottom of the page, then just click it (obviously) and you can easily just set up an account, good luck!

Can't anymore. Yahoo discontinued Avatars in April. If you were using an avatar, it just became an image for you to use.

Yahoo no longer supports the creation of their cartoon avatars, sorry.

You can use a photo avatar or a cartoon avatar from another site, and if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can also use those avatars.

Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ - make sure your profile isn't hidden, because if it is, your avatar won't show.

In case you want to use a Facebook or Twitter avatar, you need to link those accounts in the Profile options.

You have several options in case you want a photo avatar:
a) go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity > click edit my preferences near your current pic > click "Update photo or avatar",
b) go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on the current avatar.
Now upload a picture or choose one of the pics you've uploaded previously.

Note: if you are on a mobile, you need to switch to desktop mode first in order for this to work.

You have to upload an image to YOUR hard drive from ANOTHER web page, including web pages where you can MAKE an avatar,

To UPLOAD an image to YOUR hard drive, display the Image. RIGHT click on the image. Select "Save Image as" from the drop down menu. give the image a file name, AND pay attention to which folder on your hard drive you are saving this image too, Yes you can create folders inside of your "My Pictures" folder. Make SURE you save the image as either a .JPG or .GIF file.

AFTER doing the above. You upload an image as your avatar 2 DIFFERENT WAYS., through EITHER your YA activity profile OR your Yahoo profile.

Yahoo profile:

1. Go to the YAHOO home page, NOT the YA homepage.

2. Click your tiny little avatar. That will take you to your YAHOO profile page

3. Click the small small image where it says "Change photo"

4. Click the "Upload" arrow. That should open a new window Where you can

5. Click the folder where your pictures are.

6. Click any sub-folders you may have to open them.

That will change your YA avatar too. .

You could choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar
