Create unique very useful content for the users which you think would be interested to read in your blog.

Spend maximum time on content creation, once the content is created and posted on your blog, then do all the marketing you want like share it on all social media accounts, try to get keywords related to the content on top with the help of SEO.

By pasting the link of your blog to Yahoo! Answer is one way of marketing [like you did above] but anyways let me tell you some of the free ways to market your blog.

1. Set-up social media account - FB, Twitter, G+, Pinterest etc...
2. Build back links on niche sites.
3. Write quality content to keep your blog updated.
4. Join in Q and A sites, forums, submit images, videos, create and submit inforgraphics and so much more.
