Does twitter make the dumb look even dumber?
To me, the format of this particular medium seems uniquely appropriate for allowing the stupid to announce their stupidity at even more rapid rate than Facebook or other social networks. Even though smart phones and other mobile devices are becoming increasingly commonplace, the PC market is still large, and twitter is largely designed for the ADHD ridden user of the former. As such, I contend this service is especially suited for the uninformed to announce as much to the rest of the world as quickly as possible.

Or am I wrong?

Can agree to an extent. Its certainly a handy tool for attention-seekers to tell the world how "interesting" they are.

However, I know that journalists are also using it a lot to keep in touch with their co-reporters.

I don't understand twitter, I don't think it's for dumb people, just people who have a lot of friends who also use twitter. So probably just celebrities or high school aged people who want to read about what other kids in their classes are doing at any given time. Otherwise, I've never used twitter even though I have the app on my phone. I do like instagram, but not for my own pics (I only have 7 pics and I got my account last summer lol) but because I like looking at other people's "artsy" photos of the foods they eat, or their gym shoes and other random and silly things. People are so funny about the things they find interesting enough to show off to others, lol.

No, you're not wrong.

Twitter is aptly named. It's like a bunch of birds tweeting in the backyard when there's a rainstorm approaching. I don't use it.

"Tweeeeet!! Gonna rain."
"Twwweettttt!! Yup. I like rain."
"Tweett....rain brings worms!"
"TWITTttter.....I like worms."
"Me too. TWEETTtweet."
"Wanna meet for worms after the storm? TWTHeeet?"
"Sure. @Tweeeeet o'clock? LOL. IMO. YOLO. Tweet."
