Why cant Mariah Carey do songs like We Belong Together or Dont forget about us instead of Obsessed?

Ok I cannot stand Obsessed it sounds so LAme and so stupid like its not the Mariah Carey we all love I loved her when she did songs like We Belong Together and especially Dont forget about us thats my favorite by her I hate Obsessed

I dont really like mariah carey in general or any top 40 stuff but i totally agree with you.

Shes like hit or miss. Once in a while she will get a good song then its awful after awful song!
Obsessed is so stupid. I was watching the Dish(show like 'the soup' on style network) and the host, Danielle Fishell(topanga from boy meets world! i think) was making fun of this song. She said it was like a synthesizer was doing all the singing.

Exactly what the answer above me said! The record company tells her what she needs to sing! Havn't u noticed that music the past year has sucked?? Like it's all about autotune and stuff!!

Don't worry I follow Mariah on twitter she said on her new album to be released Sep 15 "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel" it's gonna have all the big ballads like her old stuf she said "this album is going to be close to my butterfly album" thats her 1997 album Butterfly with songs such as "My All, Honey, Butterfly, The Roof etc."

So expect the voice back this year!!!

Because everything can't sound the same unless people will get tired of hearing the same. Mariah's music has evolved. WBT and DFAU is not even the Mariah we know and love. Vision of love, love takes time, dreamlover, or emotions is the Mariah most know.
