How can I upload a cover photo on Twitter?

How can I upload a cover photo on Twitter?
It asks me to click either on "left'', ''right'' or ''center''. So My background picture doen't cover my whole profile page. What shoud I do? Maybe the background picture is too small. I just don't understand how to make it cover my whole profile. If I click on 'Center'' the picture is covered by the tweets from my friends..

Twitter cover photo is 520*260, it's better to make your cover photo as the same size
